Electrical insulating fluids
Transformer liquids serve both electrical-insulation and cooling functions. The choice depends on the equipment design, required fluid standard, operating environment and manufacturer recommendations.
Share the exact oil currently in service and whether the job is an initial fill, refill or top-up. Our team can help review the product documentation and the information needed for selection.
Review dielectric performance against the equipment requirements.
Match fluid properties to the operating and starting temperatures.
Consider oxidation resistance and the specified inhibitor system.
Keep moisture and foreign material out of the insulating fluid.

Selection & handling
Provide the transformer model, specified standard and inhibitor classification. Review compatibility, equipment approval and any filling or treatment requirements before changing fluids.
Shell recommends dedicated electrical-service containers with airtight seals and indoor controlled storage. Moisture, particles, fibres and surfactants can impair insulating performance.
